Privacy, terms and cookies.
How Toth House handles your information, and the terms for using toth.house.
Last updated: October 12, 2026
Privacy Policy
Toth House is operated by OODIENCE Media Channels Inc., which also operates Songbird Group (“Toth House”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal information through toth.house.
What we collect
- Newsletter: your email address, and how you reached us (page, referring website and campaign tags), so we can send Toth House and learn which channels work. The newsletter is delivered through beehiiv, and every issue has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Conversations: your name, email and payment details when you book. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
- Advisory requests: your name, work email, company, role, preferred term and any notes you add, so we can respond and assess a possible engagement.
- Email you send us: whatever you choose to include.
- Usage information: pages visited, referring site, device and browser type and approximate location, collected through Google Analytics where permitted (see the Cookie Policy).
How we use it
To send the newsletter, to deliver and schedule Conversations, to respond to advisory requests, to understand and improve this website, and to meet legal obligations. We don’t use your information for automated decision-making.
Legal bases
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on your consent (the newsletter and analytics), performance of a contract (Conversations), steps taken at your request before entering a contract (advisory requests), our legitimate interests in replying to you and running and securing this website, and compliance with legal obligations such as tax and accounting records.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers acting on our instructions: beehiiv (newsletter delivery), Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (website hosting and security) and Google (email and analytics), with our professional advisers, or where required by law. Advisory requests and anything you share in a Conversation stay confidential.
International transfers
Our team and service providers operate in several countries, including Canada, the United States and the European Union. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses, or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified.
Retention
Newsletter data until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression record so we don’t email you again. Booking and payment records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Analytics data for up to 14 months. Advisory requests and other enquiries only as long as needed to respond and, if we work together, to run the engagement.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, PIPEDA and California law, you may request access to, correction, deletion or portability of your personal information, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to contact@songbird.group. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Toth House is written for professionals and is not directed to anyone under 16. We don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
Terms of Service
By using toth.house, you agree to these terms.
Using this website
Everything on toth.house is written by Rob Toth unless credited otherwise. You’re welcome to quote short passages with a link back. Headlines in the Media Room link to their publishers, and those articles belong to them.
Information only
The newsletter, this website and Conversations share opinions and experience. They are not legal, tax, financial or investment advice, and decisions you make with them are your own.
The newsletter
Toth House is free and sent every Sunday. You can unsubscribe at any time from any issue.
Conversations
Conversations are booked and paid in US dollars through Stripe. After payment, we email you to schedule a time. Paid sessions can be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice and stay bookable for 90 days from purchase. Refund requests are handled case by case. What you share in a Conversation is treated as confidential.
Advisory
Submitting an advisory request does not create an engagement. Advisory engagements begin only under a signed written agreement.
Intellectual property
The content, logos and design of this website belong to OODIENCE Media Channels Inc. or its licensors and may not be reused without permission, apart from short quotes as described above. Third-party names and logos belong to their respective owners.
Third-party links
We’re not responsible for the content or practices of websites we link to, including the publishers in the Media Room and the podcast and video platforms we link to.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
This website is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about it, our total liability for any Conversation is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes are subject to the courts of British Columbia.
Cookie Policy
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies.
- Strictly necessary: we store your cookie choice in your browser so we don’t ask again.
- Visit source: we remember how you arrived on this website (referring website and campaign tags) for your current visit, so a signup or request shows which channel it came from. Across visits, we remember this only if you accept analytics.
- Analytics: Google Analytics (cookies such as _ga and _ga_*) helps us understand how this website is used. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, these are set only if you accept. Elsewhere, analytics may run by default and you can decline at any time.
We don’t use advertising cookies. Links to YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and LinkedIn take you to those services, which apply their own policies. You can change your choice at any time through Cookie Settings, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. We have not done so in the past 12 months. We honor Global Privacy Control signals.
To make a request or confirm your preference, email contact@songbird.group with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share”. No account is needed.
